🔥 The fire is crackling, the lights are low... and I've got some seriously creepy ghost stories for you tonight.

This week on The Darkling Chronicles, i'm trying another atmospheric soundscape as I settle in beside a crackling fire to read a collection of real paranormal stories.

And then there's Tapey.

A terrifying old ventriloquist doll with matted, greasy hair and a broken jaw held together with masking tape. Yes. He is every bit as delightful as he sounds. I thought this only existed in a Goosbumps episode 🫨

Tapey features in one of tonight's stories, alongside plenty of other strange, unsettling and downright creepy encounters.

As autumn begins to creep in and the darker evenings return, I wanted to experiment with a different kind of episode.

We begin with a family who slowly realise that their daughter may have accidentally brought something home with her… and whatever followed her doesn't seem particularly keen on leaving.

Then, a childhood sleepover takes a terrifying turn when a boy wakes to something pulling the duvet from his bed. What he sees is bad enough, but it's the rancid smell accompanying the shadowy figure that makes the encounter even more disturbing.

And finally, imagine seeing your friend, thinking nothing of it, and carrying on with your day…

Only to discover that when you saw him, he was already dead.
