==============================
Retired US Diplomat to 5 different nations  David Hunter shares his knowledge, passion, interest, and experience.

Today's Agenda:
1)  Pres. Biden orders Dept. of Justice to release 9/11 files on Saudi Arabia:  On Sept 3, 2021 Pres.  Biden ordered the FBI to conduct a declassification review and release secret files which show Saudi government involvement in the Sept 11, 2001 attack on World Trade Center.  It responds to US victims suing the Saudi government and pressure from US Congress.  Will Biden be the latest US President to side w/ the Saudis and keep America in the dark about it's role in the attack?

2)  Will Saudi Arabia turn to Russia for 'Safe Harbor'? Pres. Biden promised a 'recalibration' of relations w/ Saudi Arabia for its killing of journalist Jamal Kashoggi.  Last Feb, he released a US intelligence report that concluded  Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) was responsible.  And by this coming Sept. 11, the Dept of Justice is ordered to release it's classified findings about Saudi involvement in the 9/11 attack of Al Qaeda.  Will all this lead to a major break in US-Saudi relations? If so, will Saudi's turn to Russia as it's new 'safe harbor'?

3) Russia military cooperation w/ Iran:  United Nations’  sanction restrictions on Iran’s importation of weapons from foreign countries, including Russia,  expired October 18,  2020. Since then,  Russia has been expanding military cooperation and discussing arms sales w/ Iran. Russia-Iran agreed to conduct regular naval exercises—not only in the landlocked Caspian Sea but also in the Gulf and its Strait of Hormuz.  What can the US do?

4) Pakistan Intelligence Chief visits  Kabul:  On Sept 3, 2021 Pakistan's intelligence ISI Chief  Gen. Faiz Hamid arrived in Kabul  leading  a delegation of senior Pakistani officials. Gen Hamid is the highest ranking foreign official yet to reach Kabul on invitation of the Taliban Shura.  Rumor is that he was pushing for his 'boy'  Sirajuddin Haqqani to have a senior position in the new Taliban government. But Mr.  Haqqani is designated a  Specially Designated Global Terrorist w/ $5 million bounty in Rewards For Justice Program wanted for the January 2008 attack on a hotel in Kabul, Afghanistan, that killed six people, including an American citizen, per FBI Most Wanted Poster?

5)  Counter-terrorism and Drone Strikes:  Pakistan PM Imran Khan said in June 2021 that Pakistan “will not allow the CIA or US special forces to base themselves inside his country ever again”.  Why?  And even if US drones are not operating from Pakistan bases, don't they need to fly through its airspace to reach Afghanistan to attack  Al Qaeda and ISIS targets?  Will Khan allow that?
