Today is the day after Thanksgiving for those of us in the United States. But maybe you're listening to this episode at some other point. And maybe it's the day after a big birthday bash or a company celebration of hitting a milestone.
The day after can be a vulnerable time. When we go into these big celebrations, whatever they may be, we tend to only plan until the night, and we forget to think about the day after. But the day after is part of the process with big celebrations, and they can be rough.
We have experienced so much energy, excitement, and exhilaration for the event in question, that we feel exhausted and depleted as we re-enter our existing life. We end up experiencing what I like to call a vulnerability hangover.
If you are experiencing a vulnerability hangover today, if it's the day after something for you, I invite you to sit in the space of discomfort and feel all of your emotions. Maybe things didn't go as planned, or maybe things came up that you didn't expect, but instead of beating yourself up, allow those situations to occur and take the key learnings from them. Be compassionate with yourself as you go through this process.
Listen in this week as I show you how to provide the space for yourself to feel your emotions and why it's so important to do so. Great learnings occur when things are hard and uncomfortable, so I'm showing you how to tap into these and use them to deliberately create the life and connections you want.
