The Day Santa Died

On this episode I talk about the day your boy’s ‘age of innocence’ ends.  This is an important transition in a boy or girl when he/she no longer stores everything as ‘truth’.  Prior to this day a parent or mentor has the opportunity to input influence without barriers.  The ability of determine truth from untruth is a crucial developmental transition that every parent must be aware of.  Up to this time a parent did not have to wonder if your son was telling you the truth or not. However, after the transition we must be aware of this new found ability.  Teaching and modeling the core value of truth become important at this time.

Three considerations When Dealing With The Day Santa Dies

* Expect the transition in your boy’s life from storing every experience as ‘truth’ to being able to determine truth and untruths.

* Emphasis the core value of ‘truth’ in his life.

* Discipline for lying or telling half truths.
