The Dead Men's Deepest Descent
A terrifying expedition in which a convicted criminal is offered freedom in exchange for a perilous mission into an uncharted cave system. Recruited by a mysterious woman, the narrator joins three other expendable individuals—two murderers and a nervous guide, Ren, who previously fled the caves—to document and assess a dangerous, possibly sentient, biological entity that killed the first team. Ill-equipped and treated as disposable, the group faces escalating tension as they encounter a metallic, bladed creature deep within the caverns. In a brutal confrontation, the narrator is forced to sacrifice Ren to survive and ultimately escapes as the sole survivor. He completes the mission and secures his promised freedom, but is left deeply traumatized by the events he endured.
