Editorial Reviews:
Dan Streibs Breakneck Hawk series stars Michael Hawk, a dashing journalist whose ability to find intrigue is only matched by his appeal to beautiful women. The Deadly Crusader is the first installment of his various adventures.
Newly freed from a Soviet prison, Hawk heads to a Greek island to investigate the mysterious recluse who inhabits it. In his search, he crosses paths with KGB agents, who want the recluses fortune, and the beautiful daughter of a former dictator.
Suspenseful and tightly written, The Deadly Crusader is narrated by Chris Sorenson, whose crisp delivery suits the storys breakneck plot.

Another Interesting Series
Hawk #1: âThe Deadly Crusaderâ by Dan Streib. Freelance reporter Michael Hawk is recently released from a Soviet prison where he was investigating the cruelty he knew existed there. The Russians tortured and drugged him, trying to get information connecting him with American intelligence. Then, while on a Greek island, he is intrigued by rumors of a strange recluse, which leads him to investigate. There is a lot going on in this first novel, but itâs more rambling than anything else. Still, there is plenty going on to keep the reader turning the pages. Hawk isnât a spy or action hero, but his investigative reports lead to plenty of enemies who want to see him dead â especially the KGB. We learn that one of his exposes in Africa resulted in his wifeâs murder before this current adventure. The mysterious recluse is a nice twist. Plus, it ends with Hawk in charge of hundreds of millions of dollars, which finances Crusader, Inc. over the run of the series. Well written, but I had trouble keeping interested, and not sure I want to read a second one in this series, but it wasn't a bad novel.
