In fleshing out a character for a story it's been said that your character should want something. Even if it's a glass of water, make them want it. Bryan Kohberger wanted something, but that something didn't want him back. It was a girl he had his eye on, someone he had never met. He slid into her DM's but it went silent. When she didn't respond, though, she went from a cute girl to a target. Next, I give you my reasons.
