  • Girls’ Night In | Mixed Signals, Messy Friendships & Uncomfortable Truths

Pour yourself a drink, get comfortable, and join us for a girls’ night in with your favourite girls! This week on The Debrief, we’re getting into the conversations that start with “girl, let me tell you what happened…” and somehow turn into a full-blown debate. 😂

From mixed signals and situationships to complicated friendships, unspoken truths and the things we sometimes struggle to admit out loud, we’re unpacking the messy realities of relationships, loyalty and growing up. Because sometimes, the person confusing you knows exactly what they’re doing, and sometimes, the friend you love needs to hear the truth, even when it’s uncomfortable.

We’re sharing our thoughts, questioning our own perspectives and getting into those conversations where there isn’t always a right or wrong answer… just a lot to unpack!

So, Debrief girls, grab your snacks, settle in and join the conversation. 🥂

  • If I’m Wrong, You’re Still Supposed to Be on My Side. | Where Do Your Loyalties Lie?

Is loyalty about standing by your friends no matter what, or knowing when to tell them they’re wrong? 👀

In this episode of The Debrief, we’re getting into the conversations that test friendships, challenge our morals, and make us question where our loyalties really lie. Would you lie to protect your best friend? Would you tell her if someone was talking behind her back? And if your friend is the one in the wrong, are you supposed to defend her, correct her, or let her face the consequences?

We’re talking friendship loyalty, uncomfortable truths, choosing sides, keeping secrets, and the fine line between having your friend’s back and enabling their behaviour. Because sometimes, being a good friend means standing beside someone, and sometimes, it means being the one person brave enough to tell them the truth.

So, Debrief girls, is loyalty standing by your friend even when they’re wrong, or holding them accountable even when it costs you the friendship? 💭

Grab your drink, get comfortable, and join the debrief. 🥂💗

  • Are you over him….👀 or do you Just Want to Be?

Girl, be honest… are you really over him, or have you just convinced yourself that you are? 👀

Sometimes, we say we’ve moved on, we’re unbothered, and we’ve healed… until his name pops up, someone mentions him, or we find ourselves reacting to things we thought no longer mattered. So, does being triggered mean there are still feelings there, or can someone hurt you without you still wanting them?

This week on The Debrief, we’re unpacking the messy space between healing and pretending to be healed. From checking his socials and entertaining the “what ifs” to feeling absolutely nothing when you see him again, we’re asking the questions we don’t always want to answer.

Because sometimes, you don’t want him back… but does that mean you’re completely over him? 👀🥂

    Let’s debrief! 💋

  • If You’re Really My Friend, You Should Just Know When Something’s Wrong.

“If You’re Really My Friend, You Should Just Know When Something’s Wrong.”

We’ve all thought it… “If you really know me, why do I have to tell you?” 👀

But how much should the people closest to us just know? Should your friends be able to tell when you’re upset without you saying anything? Should they know how you want to be supported, what hurts your feelings, or when you need space?

Or are some of our “standards” actually unspoken expectations that we’ve never communicated?

In this episode of The Debrief, we’re getting into friendship, expectations, standards, communication, disappointment and the uncomfortable truth that sometimes… people can love you deeply and still not know what you need.

Are we expecting people to read our minds? Or is being known well enough to expect certain things from the people we love?

    Let’s debrief. 🥂

  • We need to Talk about our Feelings!!!🫂

We Need to Talk About Feelings. 🫂

Why do we struggle to say how we really feel? Why do some emotions feel easier to express than others? And what actually happens when we keep everything bottled up?

In this episode of The Debrief, we’re getting honest about our emotions — how we experience them, how we regulate them, and the ways we sometimes avoid, suppress or overthink what we’re feeling.

From anger and sadness to anxiety, excitement, disappointment and everything in between, we’re unpacking what our emotions might be trying to tell us and why learning to sit with our feelings can be so uncomfortable.

Because sometimes, we don’t need to “get over it” — we need to understand it.

    So, let’s debrief. 🤎

You know those situations you send straight to the group chat because you genuinely don’t know what to do? 👀

  • 💸 Money, Money, Money | Perception, Lifestyle & the Pressure to Keep Up

Money, money, money… we earn it, spend it, save it, stress about it — but how often do we actually talk about what it means to us?

In this episode of The Debrief, we’re getting honest about our relationship with money and the ways it shapes how we live, what we value and how we see ourselves and others.

Are we spending to enjoy our lives, or spending to look like we’re doing well? Does someone’s salary or lifestyle change the way we perceive them? And when did keeping up become something we feel we have to do?

From financial habits and lifestyle inflation to comparison, friendship, ambition and the pressure to appear successful, we’re unpacking the conversations we don’t always say out loud.

Because sometimes, it’s not just about how much money you have — it’s about what you think it says about you.

So, is the way I’m living threatening the way you see me?

🎙️ Tune in, debrief with us, and tell us: Are we living for ourselves, or for the perception of others?

  • Conversations Nobody Prepared Us For - Talks we wish we had growing up🙄

Growing up, we’re given so many rules — respect your elders, focus on school, be a good girl, don’t date too early, listen to people older than you. But what happens when you become an adult and suddenly realise nobody actually taught you how to navigate the things that come next?

In this episode of The Debrief, we’re having the conversations we wish we had growing up — from going from “you’re not allowed to date” to “so, where is your husband?”, to learning that saying no doesn’t automatically mean you’re being disrespectful.

We’re talking about the difference between respect and people-pleasing, learning to set boundaries with family, finding your voice at work, and understanding what it really means to have self-respect.

Because sometimes growing up means unlearning the idea that being a “good girl” means always being agreeable — and learning that you can honour the people you love while still choosing yourself.

This is a conversation about growing up, becoming the woman you are, and figuring out the things nobody thought to prepare you for.

  • Are We Too Independent? | Why We Struggle to Receive🥹

I’ve got it.” “Don’t worry, I can do it myself.” “I don’t need anyone.”

But what happens when being independent becomes so deeply ingrained that we struggle to let people help us, love us, support us or simply show up for us?

In this episode of The Debrief, Gwakisa and Priscah are asking a question that might hit a little too close to home:

    Are we too independent?

We’re unpacking what it means to be the “strong, independent woman” while also exploring the side of independence that we don’t always talk about — struggling to receive.

From refusing help when we’re overwhelmed, to feeling guilty for needing people, to navigating dating, relationships and the idea of the “soft life,” we’re getting honest about why receiving can sometimes feel harder than giving.

    We’re talking about:

    ✨ Independence vs. hyper-independence
❤️ Why we struggle to let people care for us
🤍 The pressure of always being “the strong one”
💭 Why asking for help can come with shame
💰 Being financially independent while still wanting to be cared for
💕 Dating, partnership and allowing someone to show up for you
🌸 The “soft life” and what it really means
🫶🏾 Learning that needing people doesn’t make you weak

And maybe the biggest question of all:

If we’re always saying “I can do it myself,” are we leaving any room for people to show us that they care?

This isn’t about becoming dependent on anyone.

It’s about asking whether strength and vulnerability can exist at the same time.

Because maybe independence isn’t about never needing anyone.

Maybe it’s knowing you can stand on your own while still allowing people to stand beside you.

  • We Got the Degree, But Did We Get the Experience?👩🏾‍🎓

University is supposed to be the best years of your life… but what if it wasn’t?

In this episode of The Debrief, Gwakisa and Priscah take a trip down memory lane and get real about their university experiences — from the pressure of getting through endless semesters and assignments, to friendships, finding your place, and the reality of being Black girls navigating university in Australia.

We talk about the university experience we thought we were going to have versus the one we actually lived, why it can feel so lonely even when you’re surrounded by people, and the things we wish we had done differently.

And then there’s the question we keep coming back to:

Did we actually enjoy university, or were we just trying to survive it? 👀

Plus, we get into your dilemmas from students who are struggling with feeling behind, not belonging, academic pressure and wondering whether they have what it takes to keep going.

Because maybe university wasn’t the best years of our lives — and maybe that’s okay.
