After much hand-wringing and impending doom discussion... The United States will not default on its debt. The world market won't crash, and Republicans ignored former President Donald Trump's challenge to let the country default. President Biden signed the bi-partisian bill into law that will increase the debt ceiling-- allowing the Treasury Department to continue paying its bills...  the bill also included some spending cuts and caps... at least for the next couple of years.
