The village of Tsarichina in western Bulgaria became famous in the 1990s for a deep hole dug by the government looking for treasure. People started calling the area "Bulgaria's Area 51" because of legends about the hole. A man named Dimitar Kekemenov claimed he had dreams and messages telling him to find lost treasure of an ancient Bulgarian ruler to help the country. Famous Bulgarian psychic, Baba Vanga, warned that disturbing the hole would unleash an evil creature.
