The Democrat party has left the generation of Kennedy and have now adopted the party of Lenin. With major players like Bernie, Ocasio-Cortez, and Tlaib leading the way toward Socialism. The party that once proclaimed “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country” is now saying “government gives me everything free.” We find this most in the state of California.
Socialist Mentality in the Democrat Party
It doesn’t matter what it is, it should be free. No one works and gets paid, everyone is cured of all diseases due to socialism, and who needs religion when you can worship government.
The mainstream media constantly and the Democrat party tell us that “Americans want socialism.” According to a Gallup poll, 43% of Americans say socialism would be a good thing for the country. First, we need to ask who, who prefers socialism?
Americans between the age of 18 to 24 view Socialism much more than Capitalism as the preferred economic system. 61% of Americans aged between 18 and 24 prefer Socialism in America. Why have we seen the growth in socialism in young people?
Why Gen-Z wants Socialism
While the answer is complex, I do feel it is simple. First, none of the people in this age range lived through the Cold War. The disparaging picture of what Socialism brings to people is far and removed from them. They have lived in a country whose wealth has been built on Capitalism. They enjoy the fruit of the harvest but hate the farmer who grew it.
Secondly, life has been too easy. The Gen-Z generation has watched as Millennials have borrowed up to the hip in college debt while earning degrees that are worth as Chris Farley would say “Jack Squat.”
Student loan debt in the United States has more than doubled over the past decade to about $1.5 trillion. It is obvious to see that 39% of millennials have a college education. I am considered a millennial by-the-way.
After observing millennials go into debt with at times little reward, Gen-Z now flashes on the scene with a bad education in our countries history and how we have gotten where we are. According to a new Harris Poll, 73% believe that the government should supply health care. Healthcare is not the only “free” item they want. 67% believe college should be free.
A Loss of American Values
