Researchers from the Pretoria and Johannesburg universities have been commissioned to investigate unusual behavior and “strange experiences” at schools in South Africa. The department of basic education says the surveys will cover 3-thousand schools across the country after reports of strange behavior in learners. Schools reported unusual behavior such as screaming uncontrollably and hallucinations.
While briefing the media, Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga said that the department has established policies to address the issue of unusual behaviour in schools, including some who went to the extent of committing suicide.
There were times were some of these behaviors were attributed to 'spiritual callings.
