You would think that if your child has an IEP, you wouldn't need to know what a 504 is, but that belief is false! If you are new to this entire process, then you need to listen, too! And did you know...your child can have a 504 and an IEP at the same time for different reasons??
This is an incredibly frequent question-because teams, just like the IEP process, don't clearly explain 504's in a clear, parent-friendly way. 504's are used as "consolation prizes" sometimes-but there is a whole lotta value in getting one for your child.
