"Jesus is the difference between dead works and destined works." When we read the progression found in Ephesians 2:1-10, we see that we were doing dead works in verse 1, and destined works in verse 10. The difference between the two? Jesus. We were one way, and now we're completely different. What happened in between was Him. When we know our identity, and our destiny, we're ready for activity. BUt if we work before knowing who we are and why we're here, we'll find ourselves burned out and frustrated.
