Happy New Year from The Dirt Podcast! We kick off season 3 discussing some of the big racing events that have taken place over the last month, including the Dome, Tulsa Shootout, and Chili Bowl. The guys get into the latest WISSOTA news and updates, including the official sanctioning of the Hornet class, followed by news of a few well-known tracks with an uncertain future. We round out the season 3 opener with picks for the upcoming events at Volusia Speedway.

The season 2 finale starts out with some positive news coming out of WISSOTA. A social media campaign calling for sponsors appears to be somewhat successful in generating cash for the organization, but what does that look like long term? Some schedules have been released for the upcoming racing season for the Challenge Series and Street Stock Tour, as local tracks look to get things finalized. The guys discuss the massive purse for the modifieds at Mississippi Thunder in June along with some changes to the Lucas Oil format. We round out season 2 with picks for the Gateway Dirt Nationals at the dome. Thanks for your support this season!

The Dirt comes back after a bit of a hiatus, as the boys have been busy. Dan provides his dire deer hunting report after getting skunked this season. A quick recap of the world championships leads into the turkey and gravy of this week’s episode, the WISSOTA annual meeting, but only after Dan cracks a diet Miller. Rod Lindquist’s resignation is discussed, and the guys thank him for stepping up and taking on a tough role for the last couple of years. A large financial loss for the W this year prompts Dan to crack his 2nd diet Miller, as he raises the question on where the money went. The approved rule changes are gone over, and we round out the 2nd to last episode of season 2 with the racing events taking place over the next week.

This one starts out spicy, as the guys talk about the requested payment by FYE Motorsports due to Red Cedar rescheduling the Punky Manor, with WISSOTA approval, to the same weekend as FYE’s CAN-AM Clash, both of which were rained out! The glaring conflict of interest is once again explored and Dan’s opinion on the matter is voiced. Potential WISSOTA rule changes are contemplated, and the upcoming event at Eldora is previewed, as the guys make their picks on who will take it all!

Dan comes in hot this week with a passionate recap of the Twins playoffs, Wild preview, and Vikings letdown. The Fall Classic and Billings specials are recapped, and the national points winners are announced, with a little extra drama involved. A new “C-mod” class at Mississippi Thunder raises the question around too many classes being run at tracks and fans losing interest. Discussion of the Red Cedar makeup to close out the WISSOTA season closes out this episode.

Good ol’ WISSOTA is the talk of the town once again after some recently uncovered drama, leading to talk about conflict of interest and what needs to happen going forward. This past weekend’s events, including the Red Clay Classic, Mad Town, and the inaugural “Groundhog Showcase” are recapped. National point standings and the final weekends for point battles are hashed over and upcoming events at the national and local scene are highlighted. We round out this episode with a Twins playoff discussion and preview.

This week is all about the WISSOTA 100! The guys discuss results and experiences and hand out grades for various aspects of the event. National results and upcoming events are covered, and Dan gives his PSA about the next few weekends of local racing.

After a week off due to producer Brandon being in Boone for the IMCA Super Nationals, the show picks up with that very event, discussing the ins and outs of the production, format, and contingency prizes. A quick recap of the last couple of weeks of local events leads into this week’s Wissota 100 show. Jeff gives overall feedback on day 1 of the 100 from an in-person perspective and the guys voice frustration over track conditions and the effect that has on the quality of the heat races. The episode closes out with conversation previewing tonight’s Vikings game.

This week’s episode kicks off with the “balminating” tire issue and what that means for the upcoming 100 and invitational season. Crickets from Wissota around the upcoming 100 and payouts raises some concern. The boys recap this last weekend of racing both locally and nationally and get on the topic of the importance of fan interaction in the pits after events. Dan’s blood pressure spikes again as the latest drama with W, along with the addition of the Gopher State Showdown to compete with the longstanding Madtown Showdown are brought up. To round out this episode, Dan shares his recent experience at Jackson and this weekend’s events are previewed.
