Tonetta Carlisle was walking home from school, as she always did, on March 16, 1989.

She never made it home.

Before authorities were even made aware of her disappearance, witnesses called 911 to report an abduction. They had seen a vehicle pull up, several people jumped out, and they grabbed a young girl walking down the street.

These witnesses were able to get the license plate number.

After a couple of days, authorities connected these two cases, and believed the girl kidnapped was Tonetta Carlisle.

Tonetta's disappearance remains a mystery to this day.
