  • Episode 56: The Disco Podcast - August 2026

Disco never left, it just kept evolving. This month's mix keeps the floor moving with a run of extended cuts, boogie dubs and club reworks — from Purple Disco Machine's glossy "Disco Cherry" and DJ Spen's rework of the El Coco classic "Cocomotion," through to fresher heat like T.Markakis's "Frisco Disco" and JØRD's "Get Funky, Get Down." Expect nu-disco, boogie and club-focused energy throughout, with a few surprises pulled from pre-release and DJ-exclusive promos along the way.

As always, this is a mixed set — beatmatched and blended for continuous listening, so treat it as one long ride rather than a track-by-track playlist.

Full tracklist below. Prefer to browse the individual tracks? I've also put together an unmixed Spotify playlist so you can dig into the records outside the mix. A quick note on that: a handful of tracks in the mix are pre-release or DJ-exclusive and won't appear on Spotify at all, and a few of the versions there are shortened radio edits rather than the extended mixes played here. For the definitive versions, this mix is the one to go by.

And please do get in touch. Follow me on Instagram.  I'll follow back and we can geek out on disco and stuff :-)

Meanwhile here's this month's full track list:

    1 | T.Markakis | Frisco Disco (Extended Mix)
2 | Gwen McCrae, Ralf Kappmeier, Thomas Luedke | All This Love (Tokapi Disco Team Extended)
3 | Adri Block | Hypnotize (Ultra Boogie Dubb) (Ultra Boogie Dubb)
4 | Kideko | Burning Love (Extended Mix)
    5 | Luca Guerrieri | Disco Connection
6 | DE SOFFER, Simon Ellis | Walking On A Dream (Extended Mix)
7 | Memi P. | Higher Than Before (Club Extended)
8 | JØRD | Get Funky, Get Down (Extended Mix)
    9 | Kevin Yost, B&S Concept | KY Funk & Stuff (B&S Concept Remix)

  • Episode 54: Locked On Disco April 2026

Welcome to another hour of the very best in disco, mixed with love in London.

Apologies for the recent absence — I’ve been finishing my second major musical project, Songs For Every Heartbeat, out now on all streaming and download platforms. If you’re curious about the other side of my musical taste, it’s not disco — more R&B and retro soul, with touches of deep house, psychedelic rock and even a hint of country. If you do listen, please let me know what you think.

But for now, back to the disco. And I’ve slipped one of my own tracks into this mix — a remake of Maybe I’m Gay, with The Velvet Tecnokrats reworking the original protest pop into a deep house groove.

There's also great new disco from Steve Miggedy Maestro & Morttimer Snerd III, The DJ Lawyer, and DJ Meme, and perhaps my alt disco favourite in this mix is Old Hermit Crab's Respiro. Check it out.

As always, thanks so much for listening. See you again very soon. And sending you love from London. XX F

    Here's the full track list:

1 | F Monday, Velvet Tecnokrats | Maybe I'm Gay (Velvet Tecnokrats Remake)
2 | Old Hermit Crab | Respiro (Original Mix)
3 | Lost Property | Not The One
    4 | 4DELUXE | The Light (Extended Mix)
5 | Tropikal Connection | Sweet Harmony (Original Mix)
6 | Lup Ino | Always A Chance (Original Mix)
7 | Dante Tom, Random Soul | Don't Feel Pain (Random Soul Boogie Mix Extended)
8 | WhoMadeWho, Tripolism, Notre Dame | Flying Away With You (Notre Dame Remix) (Extended Version)
9 | The DJ Lawyer | Can You Handle It (Disco Mix)

  • Episode 53: Locked On Disco December 2025

Hey - sorry I missed you in November, but I was busy working on new material, and I've included a couple of exclusive new tracks here for you in this mix. First up is a remix of a track from my first album. The track is called "Maybe I'm Gay". It's a song about self-empowerment and is for anyone who has ever felt othered. It's from the album "The Gift" which you can stream and download everywhere.  Here's a link to Apple Music, and to Spotify.  All proceeds from this album go to Alzheimer's Research.  Right now I'm putting the finishing touches to a Spanish language version of the album. Each track is uniquely Spanish and I've used the language to create a new interpretation of each song. In fact some tracks are quite different. Plus I've written and recorded some new material only in Spanish. It's all scheduled for release on Friday 23rd January 2026. Watch this space.

In December's Locked On Disco you'll also hear new tracks from Daisuke Miyamoto, John Frisco, Sgt Slick, Funk 78, Seamus Haji, Dr Packer, Adelphi Music Factory, and Block & Crown. And to finish off, there's a powerful jazz funk track I've been working on called "Take It Low".  Here's a link to the Spotify playlist, but as always, not all tracks are available. Enjoy!

    Here's the full track list:

    1 | F Monday | Maybe I'm Gay (Gospel Mix)
    2 | Daisuke Miyamoto | It's Over (Original Mix)
3 | Fatback Band, Folamour | I Found Lovin' (Folamour Extended Remix)
4 | John Frisco | You're my lady (Original mix)
5 | Sgt Slick | Angel In My Pocket (Slick's Discotizer Extended Mix)
    6 | Funk 78 | Feel It Now
7 | Syke, Sugarstarr, Alexandra Prince, Sgt Slick | Are You Watching Me (Sgt Slick's Discotizer Extended Remix)
8 | Seamus Haji, Mike Dunn | Fire (Extended Mix)
9 | Dolos, Dr Packer | Night So Right (Dr Packer Remix)
10 | Adelphi Music Factory | I'm Sorry (Extended Mix)
11 | Block & Crown | Super Slick Groove (Nudisco Clubmix)
    12 | F Monday | Take It Low

If you want to hear more of my own new material please follow me on Soundcloud.

And right now I'm working on an as yet untitled disco/jazz/funk album. I'm hoping to release that in the Spring of 2026. Until then, please subscribe to The Disco Podcast. And thanks for your continued support.

  • Episode 52: Locked On Disco October 2025

October's disco mix is here. And it's a set of the latest and best disco tracks around at the moment, including GooDisco, Stephane Deschezeaux, Steve Miggedy Maestro, and Morttimer Snerd III, Block & Crown, Hotmood, Per QX, Stephan Duy, Birdee, and Ron Carroll. Oh, and me. Yes, when I was taking a break from putting the finishing touches to my new album (more of that in a moment) I sat down and created what I hope will be a bit of a future dancefloor favourite. "Disco I Love You" isn't available yet, but I hope to finish remixing it and get it out in time for Christmas. So for now, here's your exclusive preview. Let me know what you think.

And the album? Yes, it's not a disco album at all. Far from it. It's called "The Gift" and I've described it as a gay man's musical anthology of the queer lived experience. It's rooted in a singer/songwriter vibe, and explores soul, jazz, Latin and electropop influences. All proceeds from “The Gift” are donated to Alzheimer’s Research UK.  So please give it a listen happy in the knowledge that every stream and every download is getting us one step closer to identifying the cure for dementia. Thank you. Here's the Spotify link, and it's available everywhere including Amazon, Apple, Deezer, Tidal, and YouTube.

Meanwhile, here's the full track list:
1 | GooDisco | The Music (Original Mix)
2 | Stephane Deschezeaux | Bring me Joy (Original Mix)
3 | Steve Miggedy Maestro, Morttimer Snerd III | It'z 2 Hott (MS III Full DizkoSlap)
4 | Van McCoy | The Hustle (David Kust Remix)
5 | Block & Crown | We need love (Universal Love) (Block & Crown Spolverato Club Mix)
    6 | Hotmood | 1979 (Original Mix)
    7 | F Monday | Disco I Love You
    8 | Sabroso | Runaway Love
9 | Per QX, Stephan Duy, Birdee | Move With My Body (Birdee Extended Remix)
10 | Ron Carroll | Champagne (RC ReFresher)
    11 | Adri Block, Block & Crown

Go and listen to "The Gift" now. Please! Thank you.  And let me know what you think of "DILU" (Disco I Love You). See you soon. XX

  • Episode 51: Just Love Me - making a song about living with dementia and raising awareness and money for charity

I hope you don't mind me sharing my continuing journey in raising awareness and money for dementia research. I'm releasing an album of my music (and it's not disco!) on 10th October 2025. Here I talk about my fears of writing a song about dementia and getting it wrong. I did care for two close relatives with dementia, but I will never know what it was like from their point of view.

The first track from the album is out now. It's called Maybe I'm Gay. It's available to stream and download everywhere. Here's the link to Apple Music.

All proceeds from the album, called The Gift, are in aid of the charity, Alzheimer’s Research UK. It is estimated that 982,000 people are living with dementia in the UK today, rising to 1.4 million by 2040. In 2022 it was the leading cause of death in the UK. Globally the World Health Organisation estimates that 57 million people have dementia. New cases are occurring at the rate of nearly 10 million each year, which breaks down to about one new case every 3.2 seconds. In the UK, the estimated economic impact of dementia in 2024 was £42.5 billion, a figure that is expected to more than double by 2040.

  • Episode 50: Locked On Disco September 2025

And we're back to the disco with another hour of the finest tunes, kicking off this month with the good stuff from Marco Valery, J.Small, DJ Spen, and Emmaculate who have taken one of my favourite O'Jays tracks "Message in our music" and added a soulful vocal to create a whole new-nu-disco classic. (I hope they don't mind but I may have added a bit of O'Jays' magic back as my humble homage to legends Gamble and Huff.) There's fresh releases from Dr Packer and Yogi, and Dr Packer again with Abyss Deep Sound Lab, DP Thompson, and Lowkeytheory, who further funk up War's already funktastic 1977 hit Galaxy. Plus Seamus Haji and Kathy Brown, Moodena, HP Vince, and Block & Crown. And original disco classics from George Benson, Chaka Khan and Luther Vandross. All mixed with love in London.

You can pick and choose your favourites by checking out the Spotify playlist, but don't forget in this mix there are a number of exclusive edits and versions which you won't find elsewhere.

Meanwhile, I'm still working on my debut protest pop album, 'The Gift', with every penny going to Alzheimer's Research UK. The first track - 'Maybe I'm gay' - is out now everywhere, and here's a link to the track on Spotify  Every stream, every download gets us closer to finding a cure for dementia.  THANK YOU!

The album is called 'The Gift' and you can hear some of the tracks along with Making Of content right here in other special episodes of this podcast.

    See you soon!

  • Episode 49: Maybe I'm Gay - how I made my debut track which is raising money for Alzheimer's Research

September's Locked On Disco will be here shortly. You may have seen that for the past few months I've been putting the finishing touches to my debut album The Gift which is coming out in October. And the first track Maybe I'm gay is now available everywhere.

Maybe I'm gay is on Apple Music.
And you can stream on Spotify.

The Gift journeys through protest, grief, joy, and self-acceptance. From the bold defiance of Maybe I’m Gay, to the intimate title track The Gift, the playful EDM-lite Not Just Friends, and the revelatory Hello God :-), the album explores what it means to live openly, vulnerably, and authentically. It's not a disco album.  But there's plenty of tunes to move to. And I hope to be moved by.

Created in collaboration with AI tools, The Gift is both an act of self-discovery and a creative experiment — a reminder that music can be a mirror, reflecting who we are and what we hope to become.

In this latest short podcast interlude I share my journey to creating Maybe I'm gay including all previously unreleased versions and demos.  Hopefully it will be an interesting insight into the inner workings of the latest AI music technology.

More importantly, all proceeds from the album will go to Alzheimer’s Research UK.  Dementia is the UK’s leading cause of death, with 982,000 people currently affected — a number expected to rise to 1.4 million by 2040. Globally, the World Health Organisation estimates 57 million people live with dementia, with nearly 10 million new cases every year.

Every play, every download, every share of 'Maybe I'm gay' brings us closer to a cure for dementia. Please join in.

    Thank you.  XX F
