On today’s episode of Ready for Change?, host Mike Jarmus speaks with SOCASH CEO, Hari Sivan. Hari has an extensive resume in the financial industry, but branched out on his own to start up SOCASH. The SOCASH app helps consumers, banks, and retailers distribute cash quickly; connecting end users with each other, turning retailers and people into virtual ATMs. SOCASH is Singapore’s largest cash distribution network. It provides benefits for all parties involved and reducing the inefficient supply chains generally associated with cash distribution.Considering the inefficiencies in the supply chains, Hari explains why he decided to make the SOCASH app. He also mentions the two companies -- PayPal and China’s Ant Financial – that he used as an inspiration for constantly adapt to the market and to adjust his business model on the fly.With all this growth and work that needs to be done, Mike and Hari end the episode by discussing ways to balance professional and personal lives, noting that he likes to make time for all the important things like school functions or his son’s bedtime. There is some give and take as well, like shorter vacations for the family. Mike wraps up by informing us that SOCASH is now moving into Indonesia and Malaysia.
