Kesher's Rabbi Rabbi Simon (www.kesher,.org.uk) starts off the year's weekly Torah class looking at each Torah portion with the additional Torah gems and insights from a selected Torah sage. This year's commentary comes from Rabbi Simon's 'friend for the year' Rabbi Yaakov Tzvi Mecklenberg (the Rabbi in Konigsberg (Prussia); born in 1785 died 1865). Rabbi Mecklenberg's commentary on the Torah is called (in Hebrew) ha-Ketav ve-ha-Kabbalah meaning 'The Text & The Tradition'.
This week we begin with the first Torah portion of all, the first of the book of Genesis (Bereishis in Hebrew) which is itself called 'Bereishis' (in the beginning).
Please join us for these excellent and timeless weekly Torah talks which combine the insight, wit and warmth of Rabbi Simon and Rabbi Mecklenberg.
Dedicated to the memory of Yitzchak Izak ben Dovid on his Yahrzeit
