The Dollar Bin: The Effigies

Listen Later

Chicago punk band The Effigies have been around for 45+ years, performing everything from small clubs to Riot Fest along the way. After a hiatus for most of the 1990s, the band came back strong with the album Reside, a return to their early sound, and more recently, Burned in 2024.

Bassist Paul Zamost talks to The Dollar Bin's Alan Bristoff (Dr. Disc) and Rev (singer of The Drowns) about being turned onto The Beatles via Ed Sullivan and producing music known as punk rock's "Chicago Sound." Of course, Zamost has a few albums on his want list — if any listener is willing to be gracious enough to find them.
