Between bad luck and bad choicesthe the Donner Party never stood a chance of making it to California in one piece.
April 15th, 1846 89 people and 20 wagons started their Journey, and went into the severe Nevada mountains. Only 45 came out by the time of the last rescue in the late winter of 1847. The Donner Party tragedy solidified their story into the creepy history books forever.
