November 1998. A small antiques shop off Route 9 in upstate New York, run by a woman named Mabel Croft. Luna stops in on a rainy Tuesday and buys a hand-painted music box with a dancing figure that seems to move on its own. Mabel warns her not to open the shop's basement door after dark. That night, alone in the shop, Luna hears footsteps from below. The music box plays by itself. The handle of the basement door turns.
