The U.S. has highly integrated prenatal care but a huge lack of integrated postpartum care. We go from providing birthing people with an integrated set of solutions that they’re supposed to pursue while they’re pregnant, to saying, “Good luck! See you in six weeks.” The chasm between the departure from the hospital and that really brief check-in six weeks later is substandard for many, and dangerous and deadly for others.
