Derek Acorah was a British television personality and self-proclaimed psychic medium, best known for his appearances on the paranormal reality TV show "Most Haunted." Born on January 27, 1950, Acorah claimed to communicate with spirits and provided readings and spiritual guidance to audiences.

Acorah was exposed as a fraud during his tenure on "Most Haunted." In particular, in 2005, the show's psychologist, Ciarán O'Keeffe, set up a sting operation to test Acorah's credibility. O'Keeffe fed Acorah false information about a fictional ghost named "Kreed Kafer" (an anagram of "Derek Faker"). Acorah later claimed to have communicated with this non-existent spirit, revealing his methods as deceptive and undermining his claims of genuine psychic abilities. This exposure significantly damaged his reputation and credibility as a medium.
