In the Lord's prayer, Jesus says, "Thy kingdom come." This parable of the net is literally that. This net is going through the church like a net goes through the ocean.

The net is full of different types of people, bond and free, rich and poor, saints and sinners. The good news is our redeemer lives! We must be ready when He comes.
