Zac Overwater joins the Drive & Kick Podcast. The Didsbury, AB native talks about the huge impact that moving to Lethbridge for high school had on his career. Touching on his decision to sign with the University of Lethbridge (USports), and having a stellar career there. Finishing with his journey so far as a professional both in the newly formed CEBL in Canada, as well as the EBA League in Spain.

Episode 5 features Hamilton, Ontario Native Junior Moaku. The former Acadia Axemen(USports) graduate had several stops before finding a home at Acadia. Prep school in Chicago , junior college in Iowa, Cape Breton University and eventually Acadia. Junior speaks on the significance of taking risk and making the most of your opportunities no matter the situation.

Kacie Bosch joins Mike and Dan to tell her story. Being one of the most decorated female hoopers in Southern Alberta history, she talks about experiencing success early in her career. Transitioning to being recruited to play for Gonzaga University (NCAA D1) and struggling to crack the rotation. Leading to deciding to go home and finish her career leading the University of Lethbridge (USports) and finding peace as well as closure with the game.

Episode 3 features guest Ty Nichols. Ty is a former 2x Massachusetts state champion, all-time leading scorer at Keene State University (NCAA D3) with over 2000 points and current professional in Europe. Ty details his journey from picking up basketball relatively late to being one of the best hoopers to ever come out of Springfield, Massachussetts. Ty experienced success at each level and talks about his evolution and growth as a person and a player.

In episode 2 hosts Dan & Mike interview Grande Prairie native Lee Danderfer. Lee discusses his journey from being a good ACAC player to finishing his final college season at Grant MacEwan University. Post university Lee embarked on a 5 year grind that included fiba 3x3 before finally landing a pro contract in Poland only to have his season cut short by COVID.

Ben Arqueros II joins Mike and Dan on the podcast to open season 2! Ben takes us through growing up playing basketball in Arizona and highlights his transition from being a score-first guard, to breaking the Arizona all-time assists record. Finally, Ben touches on his unique college career: starting at Scottsdale Community College, and concluding at NCAA D3 Northland College.

As season 1 draws to a close, Mike and Dan discuss their thoughts on the struggles and success of season 1 and what they envision for season 2 and the future of the podcast. They finish off the episode by discussing the upcoming finish of the NBA season; life in the bubble, x-factors for each team, and awards predictions.

In episode 6 Mike and Dan interview Lethbridge native Madi Cameron. They talk about Madi’s unique journey from club ball in Vancouver, to being recruited NCAA D1, to playing for two different highly ranked junior colleges in the US. Madi expresses her struggles and lessons learned throughout her unique journey and how it has shaped her into the person she is today.

Dan and Mike chop it up with Oakland native Dejon Burdeaux. Dejon takes us through his journey from growing up and being a part of the revered Oakland basketball culture, to the grind of taking the juco route, finally to adjusting to the USports game; becoming a U of L legend, and leading U Sports in steals 3 straight years.

Mike and Dan chop it up with Philly’s own Kenny Johnson. Kenny goes into detail about his journey; starting with a dominant high school career, to struggling to find a niche in college, to becoming one of the most decorated CCAA players ever and a current pro. Kenny takes us through his ups and downs, and how he stays patient and keeps grinding.
