In the custom rifle world, we deal with this issue all the time..."drop in" or "drop fit" stocks and chassis.  Too often the marketing powers that be decide to use the term "drop fit," saying that you just bolt it in and your rifle will shoot better and fit without a problem.  However, there is a huge difference between fitting, fitting well and fitting perfectly.  This can play out with not just accuracy and repeatability issues, but can lead to eventual damage to your rifle.  Don't fall victim to this word play.  If you want to get the best from your rifle with this type of upgrade, have it fitted or at the very least checked to make sure you have enough of the right contact.  If it does not, than you should have it bedded by a professional. We also want to invite a couple of listeners to the show to share their stories of their hunt or match experiences in a series we are calling "preparing for the hunt" and "preparing for the match."  Please email us your stories, both the good the bad, to our email address at [email protected] for your chance to be chosen to come on the air and be part of the show.  We will be selecting the top three entries, so submit yours today.  Please put in the subject line - "Preparing for the hunt" or "Preparing for the match."
