Have you ever heard of the following mental disorders: reading disorder, disorder of written expression, mathematics disorder, caffeine intoxication, or nicotine withdrawal disorder? Believe it or not, these are just a few of the 374 mental disorders that are listed in the current edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV).  Now, there's a 5th edition being worked on, due out in 2013.  Some of the disorders being considered for this new version include binge eating, temper dysregulation disorder, and psychosis risk syndrome.  This week's guest, psychologist Richard Skaff, discusses how psychiatry is turning normal human behavior into mental disorders.
