The Duchess Bake Shop is on the must-visit list for people heading to or in Edmonton as it's become famous for classic french pastries, along with Alberta favourites, like brownies and butter tarts. Owner Giselle Courteau is a self taught baker who opened the shop ten years ago and she now employs more than 60 people, she's busy opening a second location, and is launching a new cookbook called "Duchess at Home." She will be launching the book on Wednesday October 16, at her Duchess Bake Shop in Edmonton and she'll be at CookBooks & Company on Sunday, October 20 in Calgary.
