They recognize the failure pattern as material essence drain, which threatens the entire logistics chain and the ceremonial timing of the lighting. Alistair initially relies on his manifest, but Clara pushes for immediate, unsanctioned action based on historical knowledge. She recalls lore suggesting the ancient un-dyed linen stored in the restricted Sub-Level Archive for Unapproved Ephemera is the only material capable of resisting this form of erasure, forcing them to consider breaking into the restricted archive to secure the necessary stabilization components.
