In February, 1959, a group of 9 hikers died whilst on an expedition to a mountain pass in Russia's Ural range.  The cause of death is officially hypothermia and authorities have said that an avalanche caused the group to flee from their tent.  The stuation and the state of the bodies is sufficiently strange to suggest that something else occurred -- but what?
