Thought-Provoking Read on Goal Setting and Long-Term Impact

In The Ease of Hard Work, Brother Lucas invites us into his personal journey of discovering what true effectiveness in ministry and in life looks like. Some well-observed experiences in the author's life as a missionary in the East led him to question some deeply ingrained Western dogmas about effectiveness, time management and accomplishment and set him on a quest to search out more substantial answers. Shortly into this book, you will begin to question much of the anxiety and uncertainty you might experience in planning and executing long-term goals and, in the process, begin to harness tools to build momentum in your life towards the impactful life and ministry you desire. The narrative is personable and interesting without being repetitive and the content provokes reflection and offers a path to change for the many who struggle to see their goals through or set them in the first place.

Bravo! Brother Lucas hit it out of the park! Not a big fan of Christian books as my experience has been after reading I am left feeling overwhelmed and unable to get to the same "level" as the author may have intended. This is not that kind of book. This book seeps with the practical - and not only for Christian ministry but also for everyday living! In fact, I believe his intention is to get healthy at everyday living which can then lead to effective Christian ministry.

I think and hope this will be the first of many more books by the author.

Relevant and Thoughtful

This book is clear, concise, and full of alternative perspectives to the crowd, hack-it mentality. It also questions some basic assumptions about how we think of success and the means to it. Particularly valuable are Lucas' mathematical extrapolations that "prove" little, mundane, and personal efforts make a bigger difference than the huge stunt or event. This text is a good antidote to the prevailing culture of any generation but especially for millennials who haven been told they're special so many times that any disappointment becomes despair.

Make every step count!

This is an encouraging motivational book grounded in Scriptural truths. I was challenged directly to rethink my walk of faith.
