On Good Friday we celebrate what Jesus did to deal with our sin once and for all. As we look back to the promises that God gave the Israelites through the Ark of the Covenant, we see how Jesus fulfils the promise to restore the presence of God in our lives. The gift of God’s presence was lost by Adam and Eve when they allowed sin to enter our world, but God was at work to restore the relationship. He set apart a special nation through Abraham and gave them a way of approaching Him through Moses, but that way was only ever meant to be a shadow of the perfect way that would come through Jesus and would be available to every person from every tribe, language, nation and people group. In this message we explore the symbolism of what God gave Moses in the Ark of the Covenant and the Day of Atonement to really appreciate what Jesus did for us on Good Friday.
