So...what is Abundance? Is it financial wealth? Is it akin to gratitude? Is it a sense that Life, even with the enormous challenges with which we deal, is in support of us? Is it a sense of freedom? Can abundance actually be a choice?

And how is teaching abundance different from the "prosperity gospel", of which I am not a fan?

Without all the woo-woo, how can we tap into limiting beliefs around money and financial freedom? What are some practical steps to change our abundance mindset?

A native of Princeton, N.J., Trudy E. Bower studied French literature at Smith College and international affairs at Columbia University. Inspired by the writings of Victor Hugo and an internship at the United Nations in New York, she embarked on an overseas career with CARE (Cooperative for Assistance and Relief Everywhere) and the UN World Food Programme spanning thirty years where her interests in social justice, languages, and travel intersected. She managed food assistance programs in India, Bangladesh, Mozambique, Burundi, Madagascar, Cote d’Ivoire, and Ghana—the latter two as country director. 

Her most challenging assignments were working in countries where political instability and violence coexisted with managing food emergencies and raising her two daughters. 

In 2011, Trudy began co-authoring this book. In 2015, she joined a writing group in Rome, Italy, and started her memoirs. She has contributed articles to two published works of nonfiction. This is her first work of fiction.

Mississippi native Karen Hinton is a nationally-recognized media professional in Washington and New York. Best known for her role as press secretary to both former Housing Secretary Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, Hinton played what Politico dubbed the “Helen of Troy role” in the clash between Cuomo, now the former Governor of New York, and Mayor de Blasio. The New York Times called the clash “one of America’s ugliest political feuds.”

Hinton cut her teeth as the press secretary for the first Black Congressman from Mississippi since Reconstruction in 1986. The Democratic National Committee hired her in 1989, serving a similar role for Ron Brown, who was the first Black Chairman of the DNC and a key political strategist to elect Bill Clinton as President. In 1995, Hinton joined the Clinton Administration as press secretary for Cuomo at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. During that time, President Clinton began to face charges of womanizing (and worse). Hinton later relocated to New York and became Mayor de Blasio’s press secretary. She found herself at the center of the crossfire between longtime frenemies Cuomo and de Blasio, often becoming the subject of news coverage herself.

Hinton was at the peak of her career when a catastrophic brain injury from a freak accident confronted her with the battle of her life. Emerging from a coma, learning to walk and talk again, Hinton was determined to “speak up not shut up” on issues involving women, men and power in politics. She is the author of the best selling book, Penis Politics.

John is educated in clinical psychology having earned a Master of Science and Ph.D. from Pacific Graduate School of Psychology in Palo Alto, California.

While still working as a psychotherapist, John taught fitness classes and added yoga to his fitness routine in 2000. He has been able to use his education in psychology and devotion to fitness and yoga to understand and offer the benefits of a body and mind connection.

John also started his own business, “mbody,” in 2008 and offers Yoga Therapy as a Certified Yoga Therapist (IAYT), Nutrition Coaching, Personal Training, private and group yoga lessons, workshops, and retreats. 

He just authored his second book, “Some More Yoga, Please.” It compliments his first book entitled, “Yoga With Intention: A Yogic Life Journey from Awareness to Honoring.”
