The Edmonton Oilers are heading back to the Stanley Cup Final! For the second straight season, they’ve eliminated the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference Final—this time doing it in just five games. Game 5 was electric from the opening puck drop, with the Oilers exploding for two goals on their first two shots. The blitz forced Dallas head coach Pete DeBoer to burn his timeout and pull Jake Oettinger just minutes into the game. But the damage was already done.

Connor McDavid led the way with another dominant performance, the powerplay continued to deliver, and despite a push from Dallas in the third to make it 4-3, it was Evander Kane who silenced the Stars with a massive insurance goal to seal it. Edmonton walks away with a 6-3 win and a trip back to the Stanley Cup Final—this time looking for redemption.
