Today on the BYOB Podcast, I’ll be reading a paper that I wrote in November 2014 which details how standardized tests have impacted the African American Community. The heated discussion over requiring students to pass standardized tests has been up for debate for decades. On one hand, many people believe that standardized tests are an advancement to the next level of education. Proponents like myself argue that standardized tests are widening the academic achievement gap for African Americans.
