The Bible calls believers to be watchful and alert at all times (Colossians 4:2). There are eight watches worth knowing about. These are oftentimes referred to as prayer watches throughout a 24-hour day. A biblical watchman is a soldier or a guard positioned on city walls or towers to detect approaching danger, warn the community by blowing a trumpet, and guard against threats. Are you led to pray during a certain time of day? This may be your time to stand guard —be watchful and alert for the coming and daily events.
