Abortion is the elephant in the room that keeps many conservatives loyal to Trump.  They believe abortion is murder.  In contrast, Liberals believe on day A it is not murder, but on day A+1 it is murder.  Perhaps we need to discuss what happens between day A and day A+1.   What happens that a fetus becomes a baby on day A+1.  What constitutes human life?  And how is it that human life forms between day A and day A+1.   Perhaps we should add an extra day of safety, and then another, and another?   Until we can discuss what happens on day A+1 to turn a fetus into a human, the elephant will stay in the room.  I would prefer that we make an extraordinary human effort to have no unwanted pregnancies and no unwanted babies in this world; is that impossible?
