The End Has Come (Ezekiel 4-7)
The Bible declares that there will be a final judgement day when every person will stand before God’s throne. Those who have trusted in Christ will be saved, but those who have rebelled will face everlasting destruction. But will such a day really come? After all, many people believe that a loving God would never come in judgment. Perhaps he’s too gracious and forgiving to punish people for their sins? Ezekiel warns us that even though God is loving and gracious, there is a time when his patience will run out. God must defend his honour and glory by judging sin. Since that judgment is so horrifically awful, we’d better repent before it’s too late.

1. Four Sign-Acts of Inevitable Final Judgement (Ezekiel 4–5)
a. The Siege (4:1–3)
b. The Guilt (4:4–8)
c. The Rations (4:9–17)
d. The Final Destruction (5:1–4)
e. The Sign-Acts explained (5:5–17)
i. Israel’s rebellion (5–7)
ii. God’s personal relentless fury (8–12)
iii.God’s jealousy for his glory (13–17)
2. Two Oracles of Inescapable Final Judgement (Ezekiel 6–7)
a. Judgement on Idolatry (Ezekiel 6)
i. Idols destroyed (1–7)
ii. Idolatry mourned (8–10)
iii.God’s glory vindicated (11–14)
b. The Day of God’s Wrath (Ezekiel 7)
i. “The end has come” (1–3, 5–7, 10–12)
ii. “My eye will not spare” (4, 8–9)
iii.None shall escape (10–22)
iv.No peace, but sheer terror (23–27)
Conclusion
a. Heed the warning of inevitable final judgement
b. Our only hope is to turn from our sins in repentance
c. God satisfies his own wrath through the cross
