Sermon Notes—“Overcomers - The End is Near”
“We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.”
Colossians 1:28 (NIV)
Lesson Text
7 The end of all things is near; therefore, be of sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer. 8Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins. 9Be hospitable to one another without complaint. 10As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Since the end is near, is your relationship with GOD where it should be?
Sound Judgment – a correct ASSESSMENT of yourself.
Sober spirit – a CLEAR-HEADED view of life.
3 For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.
Romans 12:3 (NASB)
Prayer strengthens your relationship with God. Make sure your prayers are guided by a proper view of SELF and LIFE.
Since the end is near, are your relationships with other BELIEVERS what God wants them to be?
Are they characterized by: Love that’s slow to offend and quick to FORGIVE.
Love that’s willing to SHARE your possessions. Love that’s committed to using His GIFTS to build up others.
22 Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart,

10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up.
