November 9, 2025 – The Enemy Inside – Colossians 3:5-6, 10; Luke 12:1
Colossians 3:5-6, 10 advises Christians to “put to death” earthly, sinful desires like sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, and greed, which are considered idolatry, because God’s wrath is against them. The passage calls for putting off the “old self” with its practices and putting on the “new self,” which is renewed in knowledge after the image of the Creator. Luke 12:1 is a separate verse that describes Jesus warning his disciples to “beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy”.
