I have heard people say, “Comparison is the enemy of peace,” and I couldn’t agree more. In our modern culture, we compare everything. We look to see what our neighbor is driving, what our friends post on social media, what other people are doing for vacation… and yet, comparison almost always ends in restless feelings. We end up with a sense of inferiority. 

How can we fight the urge to compare ourselves to others? Well, it’s simple. We fill our minds with more of Jesus and less of the world. Spend time in the Bible before checking your social media page. Pray before going out with friends. Keep yourself rooted in Christ, so that you can be in – but not of – the world.

Isaiah 26:3 in the Bible says of God, “You will keep in perfect peace the mind that is dependent on You, for it is trusting in You.” Do you trust completely in God your Father, your Creator who loves you? Is your mind rooted in Him? If you have the peace of Christ, share it with others. Tell the Good News to people in your life today. Let them know how they too can experience the peace of God that you enjoy so much because of the Holy Spirit who lives in you.  And the Bible says the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace.This is Luis Palau.
