Wonderful!
Mesmerizing, poetic-simply lovely. This book is a bravely honest account and very difficult to put down. So much for me reading a little before bed. This book kept me up for hours. I soon realised it was 3 in the morning and I had to be up at 6. Well worth it though. I cannot recommend it enough.
Five Stars
Good
extraordinary and uplifting
On the evidence of this extraordinary and uplifting book Maggie Wadey is a poet who disguises her poetry as prose. The reader is the beneficiary of this deception. While we think we are following a biographical narration - we feel that we are participating in a dream. With an artistry that has no hint of the artist's skill or hard work she achieves something that is comparable to the genius of Laurie Lee: the recounting of real and dramatic experience amplified by a sensitive and sensual imagination.
Highly recommended.
