“Behold thy mother”…These words have always been understood as the foundation of Our Lady’s Motherhood, and as our Mother she passes on life, as any mother does; and in Our Lady’s case, the supernatural life of grace. So she is Mary Mediatrix. If Rome denies this and tells us that it’s not appropriate to call Mary Mediatrix, in what consists her Motherhood? There is an implicit denial of her Motherhood in this decision to withdraw from her her title of Mediatrix.

If the downgrading or dismissal of the traditional understanding of Our Lady’s Motherhood doesn’t constitute a Crisis in the Faith and a State of Necessity then nothing does. That’s one of the most basic dogmas of our faith. And to those who prefer obedience to all else, well, we cannot allow Mary’s honour to become the price of blind obedience. We would be unworthy sons.
