Titus was a young pastor that needed a plan and words of encouragement from his mentor, the Apostle Paul, who knew that planting and pastoring multiple churches in Crete would be a daunting task. In Chapter 1, the Apostle Paul writes Titus of these difficulties, but also encourages him to stand strong and speak boldly. Bringing order to the churches will prove effective if Titus can stand strong in Christ. Chapter 2 addresses the problem of disorder in the church, which Paul gives specific instructions for Titus to pass on to the older men, older women, younger men, and slaves. Finally, in Chapter 3, Paul acknowledges the humility needed with rulers and authorities, as well as Christians interacting with each other. Rejecting false teachers allows Christians to bear witness to Christ by letting Him transform His work in their lives.
