From the developmental years in early education to insitutes of higher learning, teacher and educators help us to understand the world in molding, guiding us and being mentors in aspects of our lives. In this mini series on teachers appreciation week for 2025 I am joined by my first ESL teacher and one of the educators that inspired me to create this podcast. Born at the end of WW2, growing up in California and Arizona join us as we go through his life being raised in fallon nevada, by a teacher and Sign maker. We explore his life as the only white student in a all black school in north vegas in the 50s, university of Nevada reno in the 60s and his 2 years voluntary service in vietnam. We touch on his late entrance into education and his views on the changes that affected not only me as his student but all of his students life throug the often difficult assimilation via ESL.
