In this episode of the Pulpit Banter, we discuss the essentiality of baptism and why invoking the name of Jesus over someone is not a minor detail, but a biblical necessity.

From the Old Testament flood, to the pattern of the Tabernacle, to the Book of Acts, scripture consistantly points to the importance of water, washing, burial, and the name. Baptism is not merely a church tradition, a membership ceremony, or a symbolic welcome into a local congregation. It is obedience to the command of Jesus, the practice of the apostles, and the means by which sins are remitted and washed away.

If baptism buries us with Him, then it cannot be optional.
