Today we prepare for the upcoming feast of St. Brigid of Ireland by looking at her history and traditional customs for both the Eve and Feast Day.

Prayer to St. Brigid on Christian Perfection

O Glorious St. Bridget, Patroness of Ireland, protect the Catholic Church and preserve the true Faith in every heart, at home and abroad. Obtain for us the grace to walk faithfully in the path of Christian perfection during life, and so to secure a holy and happy death, with life everlasting, in your blessed company, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Let us pray. O God, Who dost rejoice with the memory of the blessed Saint Brigid, Thy virgin and abbess, mercifully grant that we may be assisted by her merits, by whose chastity we are illumined. Through Jesus Christ Thy Son Our Lord. R. Amen.
