Inside the machine: the network of presidents, princes, financiers and Nobel-calibre scientists, held to the show's iron rule that proximity is not proof. A careful, documented-only look at the association that even the most cautious billionaires couldn't seem to quit — including Bill Gates's post-conviction meetings and what Melinda French Gates has said on the record.
The invisible fortune that looks less like earnings and more like a protection racket, and the serious-but-unproven allegations that follow from it: leverage, secretly-filmed rooms, and an intelligence connection that has never been cleanly proven — or cleanly killed.
And then the paper. The single most astonishing document in the whole case: a 53-page federal indictment that could have jailed Epstein for life, quietly swapped in 2008 for two state charges, 13 months in county jail with up to sixteen hours a day of work release — and immunity extended to his co-conspirators, while his victims weren't even told. A judge later ruled it broke the law.
The real question was never whether Epstein was a monster. That's proven. It's who decided he was worth protecting — and why.
Then, in 2019, the cell door finally closed. Thirty-six days later, he was dead (apparently). That's part three.

The morning of the 18th of June 1982. A postal clerk crossing London's Blackfriars Bridge looks up into the scaffolding and sees a man hanging from an orange rope. Expensive grey suit. Watch stopped at ten to two. And in his pockets: nearly twelve pounds of broken bricks, fifteen thousand dollars in four currencies, and a passport in a false name.
His name was Roberto Calvi — "God's Banker" — because his bank did secret business with the Vatican itself. Ten days earlier, that bank had collapsed with a hole in it worth over a billion dollars.
Tonight, the companion to The Alchemists, Mark and Grim follow the money all the way to where it stops being a number and becomes a body. The Vatican Bank and an archbishop who looked like a bouncer. Around 97% of the money in Britain came into existence that way. You dig your money out of yourself, hour by hour. They type theirs.
We trace the whole con: why gold was money no man could control — and why that made it intolerable.
The 1933 order forcing Americans to hand in their gold at $20 an ounce, right before the government revalued it to $35. Nixon's "temporary" 1971 suspension, now 55 years old. The gold in Fort Knox that no independent auditor has properly counted since 1953. And Brown's Bottom — the 395 tonnes of Britain's gold sold at the very bottom of the market, in public auctions the Chancellor announced in advance.

This is the deep one. We start with the fact even hard-nosed sceptics concede: science genuinely cannot explain consciousness — why it feels like something to be you. From there we open two doors. Door one: you're a machine, the brain makes the light, and when it stops, you're gone. Door two, older than every religion: the brain isn't a generator but a receiver — a radio — and when the radio breaks, the music was never coming from the box. We follow the honest wonder through residual hauntings, near-death experiences, and the "tree of souls" — the idea that you're not a leaf that has consciousness, but the whole tree, briefly experiencing itself as this one leaf.
And the conspiracy? No secret robed cabal — something simpler and more damning. Fear of death is the oldest lever of control there is. A population that's unafraid, that feels its oneness, is ungovernable — you can't frighten it, divide it, or sell to it. So you don't ban the truth. You just teach everyone they're meat machines, keep them distracted, and make sure nobody's ever still enough, quiet enough, to notice what's underneath the noise.

We also tread carefully where it matters: the rumours around Diana, weighed honestly against what the exhaustive official inquiry actually found — and a hard line drawn against the genuinely ugly tropes some versions of this theory smuggle in. Because there's a kernel of something real here.
So why won't a theory apparently this debunked ever die? Maybe because the lizard was never the point. Maybe it's just easier to picture a monster than a system, such as this.

Nothing's banned. Nobody's arrested. It's just a tweak to an algorithm, for your own protection. BBC propaganda pushed on social media and other platforms. And that's exactly why Mark and Grim think you should be paying very close attention.
Tonight: the genius of censorship that leaves no corpse. The everyday psychology already used on you — charm pricing, dark patterns, the government's own "Nudge Unit." The road that leads from "helping you find trusted news" all the way to China's Great Firewall and social credit. And a quote you can check yourself — the WEF's founder calling China's system "a role model for many countries," said out loud on state TV.
Who gets to define "trustworthy"? Who arranged the page you're looking at? And why is the scariest monster we've ever covered a consultation document?
