Today’s players can move from pub leagues to professional stages faster than ever before, supported by academies, structured coaching, and pathways like the JDC that are producing incredible talent at a younger age.

But as the sport accelerates, something hasn’t kept pace.

In this episode, I reflect on the evolution of the modern darts player — how talent is developed earlier, exposure arrives sooner, and expectations grow louder — often without the same level of preparation for media pressure, public scrutiny, and the emotional side of professional sport.

This isn’t about criticism or blame.

It’s about asking whether darts has built a clear pathway into the game, but not yet a playbook for everything that comes after success.
